Camel coat - 5 reasons to invest in it

Camel coat? That is nothing new you might say. But it is! Because it is not the colour camel, but the material camel hair. And when it comes to camel wool as a material then we are talking about an investment! An investment not in the way of getting shareholder value back, but in the way of spending money for something that is really worth it. Classic camel hair coats are made by Max Mara, the Italian institution for coats.

5 reasons for a classic camel coat:

it is long lasting when, because of the hard-wearing brand quality
you are never underdressed

Camel hair coats are expensive, but there are Outlets like the one in Maasmechelen, Belgium or you can find pre-owned items on eBay or Vestiaire Collective. I bought mine in the Outlet store with a really good price reduction and opted for a black one. The black one is really versatile as it is perfect with any other colour and another reason is that I own a wool coat in the colour camel. This one is a bit worn, but I love it and don’t want to sort it out at the moment. And 2 coats in the same colour would be nothing than weird.

Where to wear?

Everywhere! As you can see on the pictures I even wear my coat at the flea market. (Though I have to admit that I was a bit frightened because of all these people smoking cigarettes behind and next to me….) Usually I wear the coat at work with my suits or casual with denim looks.

Camel coat? Das ist aber nichts Neues könnte man sagen. Ist es aber doch! Weil wir nicht von der Farbe camel sprechen, sondern von dem Material Kamelhaar. Und wenn man über Kamelhaar als Material spricht ist klar, dass wir über ein Inverstment sprechen. Und zwar ein Investment nicht in dem Sinne, bei dem man Dividenden ausgeschüttet bekommt, sondern in dem Sinne, dass man Geld ausgibt für eine Sache, die es wirklich wert ist. Klassische Mäntel aus Kamelhaar werden vor allem gemacht von Max Mara, der italienischen Institution für Mäntel.

Das Material wärmt sehr gut, ist aber leicht

Kamelhaar Mäntel sind teuer, aber es gibt Outlets wie das in Maasmechelen, Belgien oder man kann Vintagestücke bei eBay oder Vestiaire Collective finden. Ich habe meinen im Outlet gekauft mit einer tollen Preisreduzierung und mich für einen schwarzen Mantel entschieden. Der schwarze ist wirklich vielseitig und perfekt mit jeder anderen Farbe zusammen. Ein anderer Grund ist, dass ich schon einen Wollmantel in der Farbe camel habe, der zwar schon etwas abgetragen ist, den aich aber liebe und deshalb auch nicht aussortieren will momentan. Und 2 Mäntel in derselben Farbe wäre wirklich schräg, nicht wahr?

Where to wear?

Überall! Wie ihr auf den Bildern sehen könnt trage ich den Mantel auch zum Flohmarkt (Obwohl ich zugeben muss, dass mir etwas mulmig war wegen der ganzen Raucher mit ihren Zigaretten hinter und neben mir….) Üblicherweise trage ich ihn mit Anzug zur Arbeit oder leger in der Freizeit mit Denim Looks.
