How to upgrade your casual look

I love a good casual look and when I’m not at the office you can often find me in jeans and t-shirts. Or shorts and t-shirts. Of course do I love high heels and chic dresses, but to be honest: in an ordinary life jeans and shirts are the best choice. Two weeks ago we went to Cologne for the Le Bloc festival in he Belgian Quarter. This is a festival where many shops show their collections, offer free drinks and have special sales. On top there’s a fashion show in a church. Very interesting and really worth a visit! It’s a relaxed atmosphere there and a casual styling better than anything else.

Upgrade with shoes or a bag

But let’s talk about how to upgrade your look when you like it casual! It’s absolutely easy: put on a statement shoe like the comfy Chanel slingbacks or my beloved (and comfy) J’adior pumps and choose a designer bag instead of a straw bag. That’s it! It doesn’t have to be the most expensive shoe or bag if that’s not in your budget, but always be aware of the cost per wear. If you save your money and buy something expensive you will be wearing this item not only with pride: it’s getting cheaper each time you wear it when you compare the costs per wear. For example: you pay 40 € for a  bag from the High Street and only wear it once, because the quality is poor and everybody else has the same bag. So your cost per wear is 40 €. When you buy an expensive bag instead like mine from Saint Laurent (which was a 30% off bargain!) and wear it 20 times (like I did in the last 2 months) it is about 65 € cost per wear actually and it is sinking furthermore, because I’m really obsessed with this bag!

Upgrade with jewelry

Another form of upgrading your look is with jewelry. And it’s the same thing: cheap things will let you look cheap. So save your money and buy something better. Or let it be, spend your money for some extra holidays, that’s okay, too. Oh and never ever buy a fake! You know that it is a fake and you will never get that feeling that a real designer item brings! And to be honest: I bought my very first designer bag in 2015. And not at the age of 22….

Wie man einen einfachen Look aufwerten kann

Ich liebe einfache Looks und wenn ich nicht ins Büro muss kann man mich eigentlich immer in Jeans und T-Shirt finden. Oder in Shorts und T-Shirt. Natürlich liebe ich hohe Schuhe und schicke Kleider, aber um ehrlich zu sein sind doch Jeans und T-shirt in einem normalen Leben die beste Wahl, oder? Vor zwei Wochen waren wir beim Le Bloc Festival im Belgischen Viertel in Köln. Bei diesem Fest zeigen viele Shops ihre Kollektionen, geben kostenlose Drinks aus und es gibt so manches Schnäppchen zu machen. Dazu on top noch eine Modenschau in der Kirche! Super interessant und echt einen Besuch wert! Es herrscht eine sehr lässige Atmosphäre und ein casual Styling ist besser als alles andere.

Aufwerten mit Schuhen oder Designer Tasche

Aber zurück zum Thema wie man seinen lässigen Look aufwerten kann. Es ist total einfach: zieht Statement Schuhe an wie die total bequemen Chanel Slingback oder meine geliebten J’adior Schuhe und nehmt eine Designer Tasche anstatt einer Strohtasche. Das ist es schon. Es müssen nicht die aller teuersten Schuhe oder Tasche sein, wenn das nicht ins Budget passt. Aber denkt mal an die Kosten pro Tragen. Wenn ihr spart und dann etwas teures kauft tragt ihr dieses Teil nicht nur mit Stolz, sondern es wird mit jedem Tragen auch immer günstiger. Kauft ihr eine Tasche bei einem High Street Label und nutzt sie nur einmal, dann kostet das vielleicht 40 €. Kauft ihr eine teure Tasche wie meine Saint Laurent (welche ein 30% Sale Schnäppchen war) und tragt sie sagen wir 20 Mal (was ich in den letzten Monaten getan habe) dann sind wir schon bei „nur noch“ 65 € Kosten pro Nutzung und es wird noch günstiger werden, weil ich diese Tasche liebe und ständig benutze!

Aufwerten durch Schmuck

Eine andere Art den Look aufzuwerten ist durch Schmuck. Aber hier gilt das selbe: billiger Schmuck lässt einen billig aussehen in den meisten Fällen. Also spart lieber und kauft etwas besseres. Oder gebt euer Geld für einen Urlaub aus, das ist natürlich auch okay. Oh und eins noch: niemals ein Fake kaufen! Ihr wisst, dass ihr nur ein Fake tragt und das Gefühl ist niemals das, was einem ein echtes Designer Teil bringt. Und um ehrlich zu sein: ich habe meine erste Designer Tasche auch erst 2015 gekauft. Und das war nicht mit 22…..
